One of the most difficult pieces of wedding planning is putting together your wedding day timeline. As a bride or groom getting married, it’s not likely you have a lot of experience with how long the parts of a wedding day take. So, trying to put together your whole schedule can be really overwhelming. Today, I’m sharing three easy ways to make sure, no matter what your actual schedule looks like, you have a stress-free wedding timeline!
Pad your schedule.
Whether you have to travel between venues or not, give yourself a little bit of wiggle room between activities and photos. Trust me when I say, you’ll need it. Wedding days involve a lot of people and it’s likely they won’t always be on time – whether or not it’s within their control. Give yourself that extra few minutes between getting ready and bridal portraits. And between locations, too. You never know what traffic could be like the actual day of your wedding! If you know you have a little bit of wiggle room, you’ll breathe a whole lot easier when your groomsman is running late because he left his other shoe in the hotel room.
Build downtime for yourself.
Wedding days are notoriously busy – there’s so many moments to be a part of and so many people to see. Try to find a way to build a little bit of downtime for you and your partner. It could be something as simple as a private ride in the limo from your ceremony to the reception or extra portrait time. Use that time to simply BE together, and soak in the fact that you’re married!
